- Implement "peek" animation:
- ConversationList: scrolls down 40px then back up on load.
- MessageThread: scrolls up 40px then back down (to bottom) on load.
- Animation only triggers if content overflows.
The share button in the video modal was not being enabled correctly because `updateSourceAvailability` returned early if `sourceToggleContainer` was missing, skipping the `setShareEnabled` call.
This change ensures `setShareEnabled` is called based on `hasUrl` or `hasMagnet` before checking for `sourceToggleContainer`.
Added a regression test `tests/e2e/video-modal-share-bug.spec.ts`.
- Updated `js/app.js` to pass `authorName` from the video creator/author details to the modal payload.
- Updated `js/ui/components/ShareNostrModal.js` to display `authorName` if available, falling back to `pubkey`.
- Verified the fix with a local reproduction script and a frontend verification screenshot.
- Add `#videoListTags` container to `views/explore.html` to support the hashtag helper bar in the Explore view.
- Rename `#recentVideoTags` to `#videoListTags` in `views/most-recent-videos.html` for consistency across views.
- Update `js/ui/videoListViewController.js` and `js/app.js` to reference the new generic `#videoListTags` ID.
- Update `tests/ui/video-list-view-popular-tags.test.mjs` to reflect the ID change.
This enables the hashtag aggregation and interaction features (filtering, muting, following) on the Explore tab, reusing the existing `VideoListView` logic.
- Redesigned watch history cards to use a list view layout (flex-row) for better space utilization on both desktop and mobile.
- Updated `buildHistoryCard` in `js/historyView.js` to support a `variant` prop ('compact' or 'modal') for context-specific sizing.
- Updated `js/ui/profileModalController.js` to pass `variant: "modal"` to the watch history renderer.
- Fixed a bug where the "Watched [time] ago" timestamp was unavailable because `normalizeHistoryItems` failed to check `pointer.watchedAt`.
- Verified changes with a reproduction script for the timestamp bug and existing unit tests for the controller.
Hidden scrollbars for `.video-tag-strip--scroll` in CSS to improve aesthetics.
Implemented a "peek" (bounce) animation in `HashtagStripHelper` that triggers when the tag list is rendered and overflows the container, indicating to the user that the list is scrollable.
Added unit tests for the new logic.
When navigating away from a view, `VideoListView` calls `destroy()` on its `HashtagStripHelper`. Previously, this cleared the `tagStateResolver` and `activateHandler` callbacks. Since `VideoListView` is a singleton and reuses the helper instance, subsequent navigations to the view would result in a broken hashtag strip (neutral colors, no menu on click).
This change modifies `HashtagStripHelper.destroy()` to preserve these configuration callbacks while still cleaning up DOM references and observers.
Also updated `tests/ui/video-list-view-popular-tags.test.mjs` to:
1. Mock `IntersectionObserver` and `ResizeObserver` on `global` to support `VideoCard` in the test environment.
2. Skip the trimming test case, as `VideoListView` now enforces `scrollable: true`.
Fixes the issue where the hashtag pill menu fails to open and pills do not show interest colors after navigation.
- Deleted `js/magnet.js` as it was a redundant wrapper for `js/magnetUtils.js`.
- Refactored `js/services/videoNotePayload.js`, `js/ui/components/EditModal.js`, and `js/nostr/nip71.js` to use `magnetUtils.js` and `magnetShared.js`.
- Updated `tests/magnet-utils.test.mjs` to remove tests for the deleted file.
- Removed unused exports `DEFAULT_FEED_CONFIG` and `DEFAULT_CONFIG_SCHEMA` from `js/feedEngine/engine.js` and `index.js`.
- Verified changes with unit tests.
- Removed `required` attribute from nsec secret input in `components/login-modal.html` to prevent browser native validation from suppressing custom error UI.
- Updated `js/ui/loginModalController.js` to ensure `required` property is disabled in JavaScript logic.
- Added comprehensive unit tests in `tests/login-modal-controller.test.mjs` to verify:
- Custom error message is shown on empty submission.
- Required attributes remain disabled when toggling between unlock/import modes.
- NIP-46 handshake panel is correctly displayed (regression check).
- Verified fix with existing E2E test `tests/e2e/ui-modals.spec.ts` (NSEC error assertion passes).

- Removed deprecated `setCopyMagnetState` logic.
- Cleaned up `components/video-modal.html`.
This change ensures the 'Explore' link is visible in the sidebar when the user is logged in, and hidden when logged out, consistent with other authenticated routes like 'For You' and 'Subscriptions'.
- Updated `js/app.js` to handle `exploreLink` visibility in `applyAuthenticatedUiState` and `applyLoggedOutUiState`.
- Initialized `exploreLink` property in `js/ui/applicationBootstrap.js`.
- Updated `tests/app/hydrate-sidebar-navigation.test.mjs` to verify the behavior.
Moved `handleRepostAction`, `handleMirrorAction`, and `handleEnsurePresenceAction` from `js/app.js` to `js/ui/engagementController.js`.
This follows the AGENTS.md refactor direction for `bitvidApp` to controllers.
- Extracted logic into `EngagementController`.
- Added unit tests for `EngagementController`.
- Wired `EngagementController` into `js/app.js`.
- Preserved `currentVideoPointer` fallback logic in `derivePointerFromDataset`.
- Relax `VideoCard` active state detection to a 30% viewport sweet spot (rootMargin -35%)
- Strict desktop detection using `window.matchMedia` to prevent active state conflicts
- Encapsulate mobile active CSS rules within media query to prevent desktop style leakage
- Fix mobile layout overflow issues by enforcing `min-width: 0`
- Ensure marquee scrolling effect is robustly toggled based on overflow detection
- Restrict `VideoCard` mobile active state detection to mobile devices (<1024px) using `window.matchMedia`
- Tighten `IntersectionObserver` sweet spot to 10% (rootMargin: -45%) to prevent multiple cards being active
- Encapsulate mobile active CSS rules within media query to prevent desktop style regression
- Ensure proper marquee scrolling behavior on mobile by separating static and animated states

- Implemented `IntersectionObserver` (shared singleton) to trigger marquee on mobile when the card is in the center of the viewport.
- Configured dynamic animation duration based on text content width to ensure constant scrolling speed.
- Verified visual behavior via Playwright screenshots.
- Applied `min-width: 0` to marquee host to prevent flexbox overflow on mobile.
- Updated raw CSS values to use design tokens to pass linting.
Moves the Zap button and Zap statistics from the message thread header to the message composer area, adjacent to the Send button. Refactors the Zap interface creation logic into a standalone component `ZapInterface.js` to decouple it from `MessageThread.js`. Updates `Composer.js` to support an optional `onZap` handler and `zapStats` prop, rendering the button with an icon-only style and the stats pill reusing the existing CSS class. Updates `AppShell.js` to orchestrate the Zap interface display and pass the necessary statistics.
Removed the "Republish now" button from the watch history tab in the profile modal (profile-modal.html) and its configuration reference in the controller (profileModalController.js). This button was deemed unnecessary for the watch history functionality within the modal. Verified by unit tests and manual inspection.
