The login modal now shows <bitlogin-auth> -- a portable Nostr identity
behind a login name and password -- as the default sign-in path,
styled with bitvid's own brand tokens (accent-strong, surfaces, radii).
The existing NIP-07 extension, nsec, and NIP-46 remote-signer options
still work exactly as before, just collapsed under a new "Other login
options" fold instead of a flat "Available methods" grid; nip07 no
longer carries the stale "Recommended" eyebrow now that BitLogin has
that role.
BitLogin isn't a single button-click-then-await-a-promise flow like
the other providers -- it's a whole multi-screen sign-in/create/recover
UI -- so it gets a permanent, statically-declared widget in
components/login-modal.html (js/ui/bitloginModalIntegration.js relocates
it, never destroys and recreates it, since removal tears down its crypto
Web Worker) instead of a grid button. It still goes through the exact
same session-establishment path as every other signer: a new "bitlogin"
provider (js/services/authProviders/bitlogin.js) lets AuthService
resolve and activate it via the normal requestLogin -> handleAuthLogin
path, while providersForModal excludes it from the grid so it isn't
rendered twice.
Two things this needed beyond the wiring itself:
- js/app.js is one line from its lint/file-size ceiling, so the only
change there is renaming an import binding (providers -> providersForModal),
a net-zero line change. The actual widget/event wiring lives in a new,
unconstrained module instead.
- The login modal's HTML (including the permanent widget element) loads
asynchronously after bootstrap runs, so wireBitloginLogin() waits via
MutationObserver rather than assuming a specific call order.
Vendored via scripts/build-bitlogin-widget.mjs (mirrors the existing
Bitcoin Connect/Blossom vendor steps): BitLogin isn't published to npm,
so the widget build is copied verbatim from the sibling ../bitlogin
checkout into committed vendor/bitlogin/, then lazy-imported (like
Bitcoin Connect) so its ~350KB never weighs on visitors who never open
the login modal.
Gated behind FEATURE_BITLOGIN (config/instance-config.js), default on
for this unstable-branch experiment per AGENTS.md §1 -- reset to false
before this reaches main until verified end-to-end against production
relays.
Verified: npm run lint (clean), the full auth/login test suite (43/43,
including new coverage for the provider + adapter), and a manual
Chrome pass against the built dist/ -- widget renders themed correctly,
"Other login options" still shows the original four methods unchanged.
Updated `js/ui/loginModalController.js` to resolve QR code colors from CSS variables (`--color-white`, `--color-black`) instead of hardcoding hex values, ensuring compatibility with the design system.
Updated `components/login-modal.html` to use Tailwind utility classes (`bg-white`, `text-black`, `p-6`) instead of inline styles, improving maintainability and readability.
This ensures the QR code remains scannable (high contrast) while respecting the codebase's tokenized styling approach.
Hardcoded the QR code colors to black-on-white and added explicit inline styles to the container to prevent theme-based inversions or transparency issues. Increased container padding to improve readability.
- Removed `required` attribute from nsec secret input in `components/login-modal.html` to prevent browser native validation from suppressing custom error UI.
- Updated `js/ui/loginModalController.js` to ensure `required` property is disabled in JavaScript logic.
- Added comprehensive unit tests in `tests/login-modal-controller.test.mjs` to verify:
- Custom error message is shown on empty submission.
- Required attributes remain disabled when toggling between unlock/import modes.
- NIP-46 handshake panel is correctly displayed (regression check).
- Verified fix with existing E2E test `tests/e2e/ui-modals.spec.ts` (NSEC error assertion passes).
- Format `css/tailwind.source.css` with Prettier.
- Add allowlist entry for `VideoCard.js` media query pixel value in `scripts/check-design-tokens.mjs`.
- Remove accidental artifact `js/ui/dm/jules_session_4520373547615093905.zip`.
- Fix bug in `js/app.js` and `js/services/moderationActionController.js` where blocked users' videos were not correctly hidden in the UI immediately after blocking.
- Fix bug in `tests/app/moderation-overrides.test.mjs` where `userBlocks` mocks were insufficient to reflect state changes.
- Added `data-testid` attributes to key modals (Disclaimer, Login, Upload, Video, Profile, Lockdown) to facilitate reliable selection in Playwright tests.
- Updated `js/disclaimer.js` and `js/index.js` to respect a new `playwright-bypass-disclaimer` localStorage flag, allowing automated tests to skip the disclaimer modal entirely.
This change updates `components/login-modal.html` to remove layout constraints (`items-start`, `justify-center`, `max-h-modal-shell`) on mobile viewports (< lg) by prefixing them with `lg:`. This allows the modal to utilize the default full-screen behavior provided by the `.bv-modal` and `.modal-sheet` classes on smaller screens, matching the behavior of the Profile and Video modals. Desktop layout remains unchanged.
- Fixed inline style violations in `js/ui/components/EventDetailsModal.js` and `js/ui/components/SimilarContentCard.js` by converting to Tailwind classes.
- Fixed Tailwind token violations in `components/login-modal.html`.
- Fixed Tailwind color violations in `js/ui/components/EventDetailsModal.js`.
- Formatted `README.md`.
- Updated CSS formatting in `css/tailwind.source.css`.
- Simplified `components/login-modal.html` to center the QR code and use a "Copy Link" button instead of a large textarea.
- Updated `js/ui/loginModalController.js` to support the new DOM structure and error handling.
- Added `docs/nip46-roadmap.md` to document current state and future features.
