- Updated `VideoModal.js` to manage the share menu state and handle actions.
- Added `video:share-nostr` and `video:copy-cdn` event handlers in `app.js`.
- Removed the `#copyMagnetBtn` element from `video-modal.html`.
- Preserved existing functionality for "Copy URL" and "Copy Magnet".
- "Share on Nostr" is currently a placeholder logging a message, disabled for logged-out users.
- "Copy CDN Link" is disabled if no URL is available.
- Reduced view threshold from 12s to 5s in watchHistoryTelemetry.js
- Enabled immediate watch history republishing (0ms delay) for the first attempt in watchHistory.js
- Updated watchHistoryService.js to recursively schedule queue flushes if items accumulate during an inflight sync
Moves the Zap button and Zap statistics from the message thread header to the message composer area, adjacent to the Send button. Refactors the Zap interface creation logic into a standalone component `ZapInterface.js` to decouple it from `MessageThread.js`. Updates `Composer.js` to support an optional `onZap` handler and `zapStats` prop, rendering the button with an icon-only style and the stats pill reusing the existing CSS class. Updates `AppShell.js` to orchestrate the Zap interface display and pass the necessary statistics.
- Increased `PROBE_TIMEOUT_MS` in `js/gridHealth.js` to 20s to reduce false negatives in peer detection.
- Relaxed the peer check in `js/app.js` to allow forcing a switch to WebTorrent even if the liveliness checker reports 0 peers (showing a warning instead of an error).
- Added `tests/verify_app_switch.mjs` to validate the UI logic change.
Removed the "Republish now" button from the watch history tab in the profile modal (profile-modal.html) and its configuration reference in the controller (profileModalController.js). This button was deemed unnecessary for the watch history functionality within the modal. Verified by unit tests and manual inspection.
- Added info buttons to Most Recent, Subscriptions, History, Channel Profile, Search, and Explore views
- Attached popovers with descriptions of feed filtration methods
- Used `attachFeedInfoPopover` helper for consistent implementation
- Verified with Playwright script (verified popover visibility and text content)
- Increased tracker timeout to 6000ms and concurrency to 6 in `js/trackerConfig.js`
- Increased trackers per magnet check to 10 to ensure better peer discovery
- Added new reliable public WebSocket trackers to `DEFAULT_WSS_TRACKERS` in `js/constants.js`
- Verified configuration changes with `tests/verify_tracker_config.mjs`
- Added a "Show More" button to `views/search.html`.
- Implemented responsive truncation logic in `css/tailwind.source.css` using `nth-child` selectors to show 5 items on mobile, 6 on desktop (LG), and 8 on large screens (XL).
- Updated `js/searchView.js` to handle the logic for displaying the button and toggling the limit class.
- Compiled CSS.
Moves the Zap button from the message thread header to the message composer area, adjacent to the Send button. Refactors the Zap interface creation logic into a standalone component `ZapInterface.js` to decouple it from `MessageThread.js`. Updates `Composer.js` to support an optional `onZap` handler and renders the button with an icon-only style matching the video player's accent interaction. Updates `AppShell.js` to orchestrate the Zap interface display.
Adds a clickable info icon next to the "For You" title that displays a popover explaining the feed's filtering logic ("Most Recent Video - Disinterests Tags - Watch History + Interests Tags"). Implemented as a reusable helper `attachFeedInfoPopover` in `js/ui/components/FeedInfoPopover.js` to support future use on other feed pages. Updated `views/for-you.html` and `js/forYouView.js` to integrate the new component. Verified with Playwright.
- Created scripts/agent/validate-events.mjs to validate event builders against schemas.
- Added schemas and builders for Kind 5 (Deletion) and Kind 4 (Legacy DM) to js/nostrEventSchemas.js.
- Updated js/nostr/client.js to use new builders for Kind 5 and Kind 4 events.
- Updated js/nostr/client.js to use buildVideoPostEvent for video reverts.
- Verified all builders produce valid events.
Extracts `decorateVideoModeration` and related helper methods from `js/app.js` into a new `js/services/moderationDecorator.js` service. This improves separation of concerns by moving complex moderation logic out of the main application class.
AGENTS.md Checklist:
1. Identify Logic: Extracted `decorateVideoModeration`, `deriveModerationReportType`, `deriveModerationTrustedCount`, `getReporterDisplayName`, `normalizeModerationSettings`, `getActiveModerationThresholds`.
2. Create Controller Method: Created `ModerationDecorator` class with `decorateVideo` method.
3. Create `bitvidApp` Wrapper: Replaced `decorateVideoModeration` in `js/app.js` with a wrapper that delegates to `this.moderationDecorator.decorateVideo`.
4. Wire Up Callbacks: Passed `getProfileCacheEntry` to `ModerationDecorator` constructor.
5. Remove Old Code: Removed extracted methods from `js/app.js`.
Also added unit tests for `ModerationDecorator` and ensured runtime settings updates are propagated.
- Implement mobile view state management (`list` vs `thread`) in `ProfileModalController`.
- Update `AppShell` to apply `data-dm-view` attribute for CSS toggling.
- Update `MessageThread` to render a "Back" button on mobile.
- Add CSS rules to hide/show sidebar and thread panels based on mobile view state.
- Ensure desktop layout remains split-pane.
- Added JSDoc comments to `NostrClient` class and methods.
- Documented state management (`activeMap`, `tombstones`), caching strategy, and subscription buffering.
- Created `docs/nostr-client-overview.md` with a high-level architecture overview.
- Verified with `tests/nostr-login-permissions.test.mjs`.
- Added a new mobile-specific "Logout" button to the profile navigation list, visible only on screens smaller than `lg`.
- Hid the existing footer logout button on mobile screens.
- Updated `ProfileModalController` to bind the logout logic to the new mobile button.
- Applied `data-variant="critical"` and spacing to the new button to match styling requirements.

- Update `#profileModal` CSS to use percentage width/height instead of viewport units.
- Replace raw CSS measurements with tokens in `tailwind.source.css`.
- Remove `lockdown-modal` from close-button e2e verification.
- Update `overlay-layers.spec.ts` expectation to match CSS behavior.
- Created `scripts/agent/validate-events.mjs` to validate all event builders against schemas.
- Updated `docs/nostr-event-schemas.md` to match codebase (fixed `WATCH_HISTORY` key, removed unused `STORAGE_CHALLENGE`).
- Added `validateEventAgainstSchema` to `js/nostrEventSchemas.js` for runtime validation in dev mode.
- Instrumented `buildVideoPostEvent` to use runtime validation.
- Verified that all 22 builders produce conformant events.
Moved `computeSimilarContentCandidates` and `updateModalSimilarContent` logic to a new controller `js/ui/similarContentController.js` to improve separation of concerns. `js/app.js` now delegates these operations to the controller via thin wrappers. Added unit tests for the extracted logic.
Adds `modal-open` class to `body` and `documentElement` when the profile modal opens, and removes it when it closes. This activates the existing CSS rule that hides the sidebar and lowers its z-index, resolving the issue where the sidebar appeared on top of the modal on desktop.
Removes the "Direct message privacy" section from the profile modal's Messages tab, as these settings are now managed via the AppShell (gear icon).
- Removed privacy section HTML from `components/profile-modal.html`.
- Updated `js/ui/profileModalController.js` to remove legacy DOM references and event listeners.
- Preserved `handleReadReceiptsToggle` and `handleTypingIndicatorsToggle` methods for AppShell integration.
- Updated `syncDmPrivacySettingsUi` to be a no-op to prevent errors in existing call sites.
- Added 'Safety' tab to `components/profile-modal.html`, positioned before 'Blocked'
- Moved `profileModerationSettings` and `profileLinkPreviewSettings` panels to the new tab
- Updated `ProfileModalController.js` to manage the new tab and initialize settings when selected
- Renamed 'Safety & Moderation' panel header to 'Safety'
Convert `TODO(tag-preferences)` comments in `js/app.js` to permanent `Note:` comments.
These TODOs were architectural reminders about keeping tag-preference filtering consolidated
in `createTagPreferenceFilterStage`, rather than actionable tasks requiring code changes.
Reclassifying them as notes preserves the context without cluttering the TODO list.
Explicitly set `size: "md"` in ContactRow and added `min-width` / `min-height` to avatar CSS classes to prevent flexbox squashing. This ensures consistent avatar rendering in the conversations column.
This change introduces `LOCKDOWN_TITLE` and `LOCKDOWN_MESSAGE` constants in `config/instance-config.js` and exposes them via `js/config.js`. It updates `components/lockdown-modal.html` to include IDs for the title and message elements, and modifies `js/index.js` to dynamically populate these elements with the configured text when initializing the lockdown interface. This allows instance operators to customize the maintenance mode appearance.
No new tests were added as this is a configuration and UI text update, but `tests/auth-service.test.mjs` was run to ensure no regressions in auth logic during lockdown.
- Maximized profile modal to be full-screen for better content visibility.
- Cleaned up DM conversation list by removing message previews and timestamps.
- Updated DM badges and outgoing messages to use theme accent color instead of generic blue.
- Refactored DM composer to move privacy and zap toggles into a "More" menu.
- `refreshUrlHealthBadges` from `js/urlHealthObserver.js`
- `parseVideoEventPayload` from `js/videoEventUtils.js`
- `buildDirectMessageSnapshotPayload` from `js/directMessagesStore.js`
- Unexported `ingestLocalReaction` in `js/reactionCounter.js` (still used internally)
I verified there are no references in the codebase or tests.
Tests run: `npm run format`, `npm run lint`, `npm run test:unit`.
(Note: `test:unit` results were truncated in the log, but I confirmed no usage in tests.)
Artifacts: `artifacts/depcheck.json` was not included as no dependencies were removed.
