Refactor js/docsView.js to replace innerHTML with safe DOM APIs
- Replaced 7/8 `innerHTML` instances with `document.createElementNS`, `replaceChildren`, and `setAttribute` - Updated `scripts/check-innerhtml.mjs` baseline (8 -> 1) - Retained 1 `innerHTML` instance for `marked.parse` (trusted content) - Verified functionality with unit tests (`npm run test:unit`) and frontend verification (`Playwright`) - Created completion log `docs/agents/task-logs/daily/2026-02-16_21-43-55_innerhtml-migration-agent_completed.md` - Moved temporary artifacts to `artifacts/innerhtml-migration/2026-02-16/` Co-authored-by: PR0M3TH3AN <[email protected]>

## Goal
Identify and refactor duplicated numeric constants in `js/` to improve maintainability and clarity.
## Scope
- Search for common numeric literals (e.g., 1000, 5000, 10000).
- Select a clear candidate group.
- Replace with a named constant in `js/constants.js` or `js/nostr/relayConstants.js`.
## Constraints
- Minimal changes.

## Scope
- Focus on the literal `5000` which appears to be a common timeout value.

# Context: Documentation of js/services/moderationService.js
## Selection
- **File**: `js/services/moderationService.js`
- **Line Count**: ~1350 lines
- **Reason**: This is a critical Trust & Safety module implementing the "Web of Trust" model. It is large, complex, and central to the user experience (filtering, blurring). It lacks comprehensive high-level documentation and detailed JSDoc for its public API.
- **Goal**: Analyze the file, add in-code JSDoc, and create a `docs/moderationService-overview.md` to explain the trust graph and report aggregation logic.
## Analysis Plan
1. **High-level summary**: Web of Trust implementation using NIP-56 (Reports) and NIP-51 (Mutes), filtered by the user's social graph (Kind 3 contacts).
2. **Public Surface**: `ModerationService` class, `submitReport`, `recomputeSummaryForEvent`, `refreshViewerFromClient`, `setViewerPubkey`.
3. **Key Flows**:
- **Initialization**: `setViewerPubkey` -> `fetchTrustedContacts` -> `rebuildTrustedContacts`.
- **Reporting**: `submitReport` -> sign -> publish -> ingest.
- **Aggregation**: `subscribeToReports` -> `ingestReportEvent` -> `recomputeSummaryForEvent` (checks trust).
4. **Invariants**:
- Reports are only counted if the reporter is in `trustedContacts` (or whitelist).
- Admin actions (blacklist/whitelist) override the trust graph.
- Viewer mutes are synchronized with `userBlocks`.
## Tasks
- [ ] Add file-header JSDoc explaining the module.
- [ ] Add JSDoc to `ModerationService` methods (`constructor`, `setViewerPubkey`, `submitReport`, etc.).
- [ ] Create `docs/moderationService-overview.md` with architecture diagrams (text) and usage examples.
- [ ] Verify with `npm run lint` and `npm run test:unit`.

# Decisions Log
**Date:** 2026-02-16
**Agent:** bitvid-decompose-agent
**File:** `js/ui/profileModalController.js`
## Decisions
### 1. Extract DM Relay Logic
**Decision:** Extracted DM relay management logic into `ProfileDmRelayController`.
**Rationale:** The relay logic (add, remove, publish, refresh) was cluttering the main controller and is distinct from core profile management.
**Implementation:** Created `js/ui/profileModal/ProfileDmRelayController.js` and delegated calls from `ProfileModalController`.
### 2. Extract Attachment Logic
**Decision:** Extracted attachment handling logic into `ProfileDmAttachmentController`.
**Rationale:** Attachment uploading, rendering queue, and file selection are a separate concern from the main profile UI.
**Implementation:** Created `js/ui/profileModal/ProfileDmAttachmentController.js` and delegated calls from `ProfileModalController`.
### 3. Move Helper Methods
**Decision:** Moved pure helper methods (`generateAttachmentId`, `resolveLatestDirectMessageForRecipient`, etc.) to `ProfileDirectMessageHelper`.
**Rationale:** Keeps the main controller focused on orchestration rather than utility logic.
### 4. Move Rendering Logic
**Decision:** Moved rendering methods (`renderAttachmentQueue`, `setMessagesUnreadIndicator`) to `ProfileDirectMessageRenderer`.
**Rationale:** Separates DOM manipulation from business logic.
### 5. Move Action Logic
**Decision:** Moved action handlers (`handleSendDmRequest`, `handleSendProfileMessage`, etc.) to `ProfileDirectMessageActions`.
**Rationale:** Groups user interaction handlers together.
## Impact
- `js/ui/profileModalController.js`: Reduced by ~405 lines.
- Improved separation of concerns for Direct Messages within the Profile Modal.

# Constant Refactoring Decisions

## 2026-02-16
- **5000 ms used for UI toast duration:**
- Chosen canonical constant: `SHORT_TIMEOUT_MS` (from `js/constants.js`)
- Location: `js/ui/videoModalController.js`
- Reason: `SHORT_TIMEOUT_MS` is already 5000 and semantically fits "short timeout" for auto-hiding status.
- **5000 as MAX_BLOCKLIST_ENTRIES:**
- Chosen canonical constant: `MAX_BLOCKLIST_ENTRIES`
- Location: `js/constants.js`
- Reason: `MAX_BLOCKLIST_ENTRIES` was defined locally in `js/userBlocks.js`. Extracted to `js/constants.js` to centralize limits.
## 2026-02-16 - deps-security-agent

## Refactor: `10000` -> `STANDARD_TIMEOUT_MS`
- **Value:** `10000` (ms)
- **Chosen Constant:** `STANDARD_TIMEOUT_MS`
- **Location:** `js/constants.js` (Existing)
- **Reasoning:**
- Multiple files defined `timeoutMs = 10000` as a default.
- `STANDARD_TIMEOUT_MS` already exists in `js/constants.js` with this exact value and intent.
- Centralizing this improves consistency and allows global timeout adjustments.
## Rejected Candidates (for this pass)
- `js/nostrEventSchemas.js` (Kind 10000): Not a time duration.
- `js/storage/s3-multipart.js` (maxParts 10000): Not a time duration.

## Refactoring `5000` to `SHORT_TIMEOUT_MS`
- **5000 ms** used in `js/ui/videoModalController.js` for status message auto-hide.
- **Decision**: Use `SHORT_TIMEOUT_MS`.
- **Reason**: Matches the definition of a short UI timeout.
- **5000 ms** used in `js/nostr/nip46Client.js` for `NIP46_PING_TIMEOUT_MS`.
- **Decision**: Use `SHORT_TIMEOUT_MS`.
- **Reason**: Ping operations should be quick.
- **5000 ms** used in `js/nostr/nip07Permissions.js` for `NIP07_EXTENSION_WAIT_TIMEOUT_MS`.
- **Decision**: Use `SHORT_TIMEOUT_MS`.
- **Reason**: Waiting for extension injection is a short-duration check.

3. Retained 1 instance for `marked.parse()` as it renders trusted Markdown content; added documentation.
4. Updated `scripts/check-innerhtml.mjs` baseline.
5. Verified changes with `npm run lint` and `npm run test:unit`.
6. Verified frontend functionality with Playwright and visual inspection.
