NIP Research Report: 2026-02-22

Executive Summary

This run focused on auditing the repository for NIP compliance, updating the inventory, fetching missing specs, and verifying P0 items.

Inventory Status: Updated with 30+ NIPs and Kinds.
Spec Coverage: Fetched 7 missing canonical NIP specs (09, 18, 25, 57, 71, 78, 98).
Validation:
- validate-events.mjs passed for all 28 event builders.
- Targeted compliance tests passed for NIP-04/44, NIP-65, NIP-07, and Kind 30078.

New Findings

Identified and documented NIP-18 (Reposts), NIP-98 (HTTP Auth), NIP-59 (Gift Wrap), and NIP-78 (App Data) support.
Confirmed NIP-42 (Auth) remains Non-compliant.
