# NIP Research Report: 2026-02-22

## Executive Summary
|
|
This run focused on auditing the repository for NIP compliance, updating the inventory, fetching missing specs, and verifying P0 items.
|
|
|
|
- **Inventory Status**: Updated with 30+ NIPs and Kinds.
|
|
- **Spec Coverage**: Fetched 7 missing canonical NIP specs (09, 18, 25, 57, 71, 78, 98).
|
|
- **Validation**:
|
|
- `validate-events.mjs` passed for all 28 event builders.
|
|
- Targeted compliance tests passed for NIP-04/44, NIP-65, NIP-07, and Kind 30078.
|
|
|
|
## New Findings
|
|
- Identified and documented NIP-18 (Reposts), NIP-98 (HTTP Auth), NIP-59 (Gift Wrap), and NIP-78 (App Data) support.
|
|
- Confirmed `NIP-42` (Auth) remains `Non-compliant`.
|
|
|
|
